Army man killed in exchange of gunfire in Udhampur

Jammu: An army man has been killed in initial exchange of gunfire between militants and security forces in Dudu area of Basantgarh of Udhampur on Thursday.

“Based on specific intelligence, a joint operation with @JmuKmrPolice was launched today in Basantgarh, Udhampur. Contact was established and a fierce firefight ensued. One of our #Bravehearts sustained grievous injuries in the initial exchange and later succumbed despite best medical efforts,” army’s Knight Corps wrote on X.

Intermittent exchange of gunfire is going on at the site, when this report was being filed.
