Lolab (Kupwara): In a significant effort to revive the reading culture among students, Anwar Library was inaugurated on Tuesday in the Sogam area – located some 120 kilometers away from Srinagar.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Qaiser Jamsheed Lone, the Member of Legislative Assembly of Lolab, along with key dignitaries including Javid Naseem Masoodi (SDM Lolab), Saqib Murtaza (Tehsildar Lolab), Rayees Ahmad (SDPO Lolab), Alhaj Peer Abdul Rashid (Ameer Dawat-o-Tableegh, District Kupwara), and the Principal of Girls Higher Secondary School Sogam, among other officers from the subdivision.
Following the inauguration, members of the civil society expressed their satisfaction and joy over the establishment of the library in a relatively underserved area. Notable figures such as Ab Rashid Masoodi (Retired Tehsildar), Ab Hamid Andrabi (Retired ZEO), and Er Mudasir praised the initiative, emphasizing its potential to make a positive impact on the local community.
Dignitaries including SDM Lolab, Tehsildar Lolab, Principal GHS Sogam, and SDPO Lolab lauded the efforts of the organizers in making this educational facility available in the far-flung region. They expressed hope that the library would provide students with valuable resources to further their academic and career aspirations.
Ameer Dawat-o-Tableegh, Alhaj Peer Ab Rashid, urged the students to not only focus on academic learning but also nurture their moral character. He wished for the initiative to contribute meaningfully to the broader development of the community.
