Srinagar: A 38-year-old man has succumbed to injuries a day after being hit by his cousin during a heated altercation in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Srinagar-based news agency Kashmir Scroll quoted sources as saying that the victim, identified as Ghulam Mohiuddin Parray, sustained critical injuries during a scuffle and was rushed to a nearby hospital. โHe was referred to SKIMS Soura for medical attention, where he eventually breathed his last.โ
The fight between the two families, as per the report, escalated over a family matter, leading to the fatal confrontation.
In a prompt action, the accused has been reportedly apprehended and a case registered for further investigations.
Ironically, the incident marks the third violent family dispute in the region in recent weeks. Earlier a youth was killed by his brother in Sopore, followed by killing of an elderly-man in Ganderbal and an individual is battling for life after he was hit with an axe on his head by his brother in Pattan area.
