Altaf Bukhari Offers Unconditional Support To Sarjan Barkati, Asks Him To File Nomination in Phase-II from Srinagar

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party President SM Altaf Bukhari on Thursday offered his unconditional support to Sarjan Barkati, urging the latter to file his nomination from any segment under Phase-II in Srinagar.

Bukhari, as per Alfaaz – The Words, said that Barkati doesn’t need to lose heart after the rejection of his nomination.

“It was the first time, that he filed the nomination and those in the knowhow of things should have guided his children,” Bukhari said.

“Now that his children know where they have made the mistake, with respect to the nomination filing, there is no need to lose heart and if they want we will leave a segment for him in Srinagar to contest from,” said Bukhari, on the sidelines of a door-to-door campaigning in Chanapora assembly segment.

Bukhari asserted further that it is not necessary that he (Barkati) contests from Shopian only, there are people from other parts who know him. “He should file a nomination in Phase-II from Srinagar, we will leave the segment for him unconditionally,” Bukhari said, adding, “It is not necessary that he contests from Apni Party, he may contest independently. “

“He doesn’t needs any support, as he already has the support of people,” the Apni Party President said further.

Pertinent to mention here that the nomination papers of known cleric Sarjan Barkati, from Zainapora Shopian in Phase-I, was rejected after scrutiny for the want of ‘oath certificate’.
