All J&K Lecturers’ Forum Kupwara Meets DSEK Over Service Issues

Kupwara: A delegation of the All Jammu and Kashmir Lecturers’ Forum, District Kupwara, on Tuesday met Director School Education Kashmir, Naseer Ahmad Wani, to raise long pending service related issues affecting lecturers across the Union Territory.

The delegation was led by District President Zahoor-ul-Indrabi. It apprised the Director of concerns impacting academic delivery and staff welfare in government higher secondary schools.

Important issues highlighted included the availability of qualified English teachers at all levels, the need for flexibility in the existing attendance mechanism, and the repatriation of lecturers posted in hard and far flung areas for extended periods. The forum also sought confirmation of in charge lecturers and early updating of the seniority list, along with other allied service matters.

The Director School Education Kashmir gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that all genuine issues would be examined. He stated that the matters would be taken up with the higher authorities for appropriate action and resolution.

The delegation included Convener and Spokesperson Tariq Ahmad Mir, Secretary Farooq Ahmad Shah, Co-organiser Javid Iqbal Pir, and Executive Members Ghulam Rasool Mir and Abdul Hamid Mir.

A memorandum detailing the demands was formally submitted to the Director, who assured timely follow up. The meeting ended on a positive note, with the lecturers expressing hope for concrete steps to address their concerns and strengthen the functioning of the education system in Kupwara district.
