Kupwara: Security forces have recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition from the militant killed in a gunfight in Lolab area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

As learnt by Alfaaz – The Words, a militant was killed during a gunfight with security forces in Devar Andherbugh forest area on Wednesday.

The security forces team which included the army’s 28 RR, JK Police and Military Intelligence (MI) wing, had launched an operation on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday night, which culminated with the killing of a foreign militant.

From the slain militant’s possession, the security forces recovered an AK-47 rifle, four AK-47 magazines, ninety seven AK-47 live rounds, two hand grenades, a tactical pouch and a medicine kit.

The security forces have in the meantime continued with the search operation to nullify chances of the presence of any other militant in the area.
