Bandipora: Locals in Ajas tehsil, located in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, are pressing for establishment of a separate Tehsil Supply Office for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA).

Ajas tehsil, strategically positioned on the Bandipora-Srinagar road and serving numerous villages, is considered an ideal location for a TSO Office.

A delegation of residents as per local news agency GNS said that their association with TSO Hajin has become inconvenient, requiring travel to Hajin for minor tasks without proper transport facilities.

“TSO Hajin covers 22 panchayats and 40 FPS shops, causing overload and difficulties for Ajas, SK Payeen, Bazipora, Chinpazpora and many other villagers,” the locals said.

“We previously approached the LG’s grievance cell to address our demand. In response to the grievance posted on the JK Grievance Cell, Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Kashmir issued the directive for TSO Hajin to dedicate at least one working day per week in a convenient location in Tehsil Ajas. However, this directive was never implemented, leading to frustration among the residents,” the delegation added.

They have appealed to higher authorities to examine the matter and address their grievance for the greater welfare of the people of Ajas, Bandipora.
