Srinagar: ‘ACT – For A Better Tomorrow’, a renowned theatre group celebrated for its thought-provoking productions, recently staged Pagal Koun?, a gripping Urdu play written by Zahid Hussain and directed by acclaimed theatre personality Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan.
The powerful drama delves into the complexities of the human condition, questioning societal notions of sanity, morality, and the blurred lines between reality and madness. With its compelling narrative and memorable characters, the play has sparked meaningful conversations among audiences.
The play premiered today at 11 AM at SP College, Srinagar, and will be staged again tomorrow (4 PM) at Tagore Hall, Srinagar. Entry for both shows is free, with organizers welcoming students, theatre enthusiasts, and the general public.

“We are thrilled to present Pagal Koun? to Srinagar,” said Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan, Chairman of ‘ACT – For A Better Tomorrow’, and the play’s director. “This production challenges assumptions about the world around us, showcasing theatre’s power to inspire, educate, and entertain. We look forward to sharing it with even more audiences in the future.”

The premiere drew a sizable crowd, including young students, college staff, and distinguished guests. SP College Principal M. Farooq Mir attended as Chief Guest, alongside guests of honor Syed Humayun Qaisar, Mahjabeen Nabi, Manzoor Ahmad Mir, and Reshi Rasheed.
The cast featured standout performances by Akib Haleem, Arjmand Andrabi, Abdul Basit, and Suhaib Lateef. Gul Javaid handled makeup, while Barkat Ali led stage management.

Khan concluded by thanking the audience for their enthusiastic participation and the media for their unwavering support of ACT’s initiatives. “Your presence makes these artistic endeavors unforgettable,” he remarked.
