Acclaimed Writer, Renowned Novelist Nazir Johar Fondly Remembered on 3rd Death Anniversary

Well-wishers and Literary Colleagues Pay Heartfelt Tributes in Lolab

Lolab: Acclaimed writer, revered novelist and author Nazir Ahmad Lone, affectionately known in literary circles as Nazir Johar, was fondly remembered on his third death anniversary during a commemorative event held in Sogam Lolab on Monday.

A large gathering of admirers, well-wishers, and prominent figures from the literary fraternity assembled to pay glowing tributes to the late author.

A Fateha Khawani (prayer gathering) was also held on the occasion, led by Mufti Shabir Ahmad. The ceremony witnessed the presence of Qayser Jamsheed Lone, Member of the Legislative Assembly Lolab and Nasir Nazir Lone, Member of the District Development Council, Sogam, along with a large number of locals who gathered to pay their respects.

Attending Speakers on the eve highlighted Johar’s immense contribution to Kashmiri literature, recalling him as a voice of cultural depth and intellectual sincerity.

“His writings captured the soul of our society and his legacy continues to inspire emerging writers and literature enthusiasts across the valley”, one of the speaker said,

Nazir Johar was widely known for his poignant storytelling, deeply rooted in the cultural ethos of Kashmir. His literary works remain a source of pride for Lolab and the broader Kashmiri literary community.

“Nazir Johar was not only a distinguished author and writer but also a prominent novelist, whose literary prowess earned him widespread admiration across the length and breadth of the region”, another one said,

The event concluded with prayers for the departed soul and a renewed pledge to preserve and promote the literary values he stood for.

Notably, Nazir Johar passed away on May 5, 2022, after battling illness for an extended period.
