6 Vehicles Seized Over Illegal Mining & Transportation of Minerals in Handwara

Handwara: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Handwara seized six vehicles over illegal mining and transportation of minerals in Handwara.

“To curb the menace of illegal mining, Police in Handwara have seized six vehicles which included a topper and five tractors, involved in extraction & transportation of minerals from Mawer Nallah and other adjacent Nallahs,” a police official said.

The action was initiated by police teams headed by SHO Langate Abdul Rahman while performing patrolling duty in their respective jurisdictional areas.

“Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Handwara and investigations taken up,” the official said.

The Police have in the meantime requested people to come forward or Dial-112 regarding any information about illegal extraction of minerals.

“Police warns stringent action as per law against those whosoever found involved in such activities,” the official added.
