Kupwara: At least three individuals were injured after a bear attacked them on intervening Monday and Tuesday night.
An official told Alfaaz – The Words, that during the intervening night, a bear tried to barge inside a cowshed of one Javid Ahmad Bajard, son of Hakimdin Bajarad, in Gujjarpati Zurhama.
“The family raised alert, following which locals made efforts to drive away the beast, however in the course of time the bear left at least three individuals with different bodily injuries, before fleeing the scene,” the official said.
Identifying the injured trio as Yousuf Bajard (42), son of Raj Mohd Bajard, Bashir Ahmad Thekri (46), son of Shair Mohd Thekri, and Tanveer Ahmad Chechi (32), son of Manzoor Chechi, the official further said that all of them have been taken to SDH Kupwara for treatment.
