Srinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday announced that three additional organizations in Jammu and Kashmir have formally disassociated themselves from the Hurriyat Conference. The groups as per Shah include; Jammu Kashmir Islamic Political Party, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Democratic League, and Kashmir Freedom Front.
In his X post, Shah hailed the development as a โprominent demonstration of the peopleโs trust in the Constitution of Indiaโ and emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modiโs vision of a โunited and powerful Bharatโ stands bolstered by these decisions. He noted that a total of 11 organizations have now publicly rejected separatist ideologies since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, signaling growing alignment with the central governmentโs integration efforts.
โTodayโs renunciation of separatism by these groups reflects the success of PM Modi Jiโs policies to foster peace, development, and inclusive growth in Jammu and Kashmir,โ Shah stated.
He added that the move underscores the regionโs increasing embrace of democratic processes and national unity.
