3 Injured as Vehicle Plunges into Gorge in North Kashmir

Srinagar: At least three persons were injured after a vehicle skidded off the road and rolled into a deep gorge in Machil area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

According to reports, a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK01BE-1591, driven by one Bashir Ahmad Lone, son of Abdul Ahad Lone, resident of Ring Bala Machil, was on its way from Machil towards Kupwara when he lost control, causing the vehicle to plunge into a deep gorge.

The driver and two other individuals, identified as Abass Aziz Shah, son of Abdul Aziz Shah, and Shoib Ahmad, son of Abdul Aziz Tantry, both residents of Ring Bala Machil, sustained injuries in the mishap.

Police, army assisted by locals immediately rushed to the site, evacuating the injured trio to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara for medical treatment.

Police have in the meanwhile taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation.
