Srinagar: A 26-year-old youth died purportedly due to drowning in Nallah Mawer in Handwara on Saturday afternoon, reports and officials said.
Reports reaching Alfaaz – The Words, said that one Mohsin Bashir, son of Bashir Ahmad, a resident of Batagund, was found lying unconscious along Nallah Mawer bank. The youth was soon after evacuated to a nearby hospital in Langate, where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
When contacted, Duty Officer Langate Rayees Ahmad told Alfaaz – The Words, that the deceased had been an epilepsy patient, and is believed to have fallen into the rivulet, resulting in his death apparently due to drowning.
“We still have launched investigations, and also collecting necessary details to bring to fore the circumstances into the incident,” the official added.
