24 Illegally Procured & Sawn Wooden Logs Seized in Lolab Forest Area

Kupwara: Authorities on Thursday seized twenty-four wooden logs, illegally procured and sawn by an unidentified miscreants, in Dhoban forest area in Lolab Kupwara.

AD Forest Protection Force Ghulam Nabi told Alfaaz – The Words, that upon receipt of specific inputs, a joint team of Forest Department and Forest Protection Force, raided Taria Dhoban and recovered the wooden logs.

“A total of twenty four illegally procured and sawn logs were seized from the site, which falls in Compartment number 72 of North Lolab,” said the official.

“Though none of the accused has been apprehended thus far, a case is nonetheless being pursued to make everyone involved in the activity, accountable before law,” said the official.

Meanwhile, DFO Kamraj Forest Division Anurag Arya said that they jointly carried out the operation with Protection Force to successfully seize the logs from the site.

“All those involved in the activity in any way would be booked under relevant sections of law,” Arya added.
